Died 29th November 1530. CARDINAL WOLSEY was staying at Sheffield Park with the Earlof Shrewsbury when he was attacked by dysentery, and the com-plaint was aggravated by unskilful medical treatment. He was thusailing when Sir William Kingston, the Constable of the Tower, with a guardof twenty-four soldiers arrived bearing the Kings order to bring Wolsey aprisoner to London. When Kingston was introduced and knelt before himWolsey said: I pray you stand up and cease this kneeling to a very wretchreplete with misery.
